Curated by Jeff Gompertz, the show comprised objects salvaged from the fires set during the crackdown on the Red Shirt encampment at Siam and Ratchaprasong. Very Thai had been found in the burnt-out ruins of a cafe in the Siam Theatre cinema building at Siam Square. It had been between two other books, and so parts of the cover were protected intact, while other areas were singed or charred. The pages were soot-edged but still able to be opened and read. The copy fo the book was later given by Gompertz to its author Philip Cornwel-Smith.
